3. Do you offer same-day appointments for sick children?

Yes, we provide same-day sick visits for children who need immediate attention. Please call as early as possible to schedule these appointments. You can also request sick or well visits via Mychart patient portal app or on the website mychart.childrens.com

For after-hours concerns, please contact our urgent nurse line at 855-456-6976.

5. Do you have separate waiting areas for sick and well children?

Our goal is to room patients directly into examination rooms to minimize waiting room time.

6. How often should my child have well-child visits?

We recommend the following schedule for well-child visits:

  • First Year: Newborns should have a visit during their first week, followed by six more examinations throughout the first year.
  • Ages 1-3: Visits at 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, and 30 months.
  • Age 3 and Older: Annual visits until the age of 21.
7. What is your immunization schedule?

We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for the recommended childhood vaccination schedule. We are committed to reviewing and discussing any questions or concerns about each vaccine with parents.

Additionally, many newborns born at DFW hospitals like Medical City, Texas Health Presbyterian, and Methodist transition to our office for routine pediatric care after leaving the newborn nursery.

9. What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept all major medical insurances, including private insurers and Medicaid. We are currently accepting new patients. Please contact your insurance provider to ensure our practice and Dr. Meenu Jindal (NPI 1568479970) are within your network.

We require payment at the time of service for co-pays, deductibles, and services not covered by insurance. We accept various forms of payment, including credit cards, checks, and cash. For billing inquiries, please contact our billing department at billing@dallaspeds.com.

Yes, we offer discounted rates for full up-front payment for uninsured or self-pay patients. Please discuss available options with our billing department to find a suitable arrangement.

Yes, we encourage you to choose a specific pediatrician and schedule all well-checks with them to enhance continuity of care.

14. What is your policy on after-hours care or emergencies?

For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911. For urgent concerns after regular office hours, please call our after-hours nurse triage line at 855-456-6976. This line is available for our established patients only.

15. How can I reach a healthcare provider outside of office hours?

You can reach an on-call provider by calling the nurse triage line. Your concerns or questions will be relayed to the on-call healthcare provider or doctor.

16. Can I request medical records or immunization records for my child?

You can request your child's medical or immunization records by logging into your portal at www.mychart.childrens.com via a desktop or laptop. If you contact the office directly, we may require a signed authorization form and may need a few business days to process the request.

17. How can I access my child's medical information online or through a patient portal?

We offer a secure patient portal called MyChart that allows you to access your child's medical information online. You can register for the portal by contacting our office for assistance.

18. What is your policy on prescription refills?

For prescription refills, it's best to request them through the MyChart patient portal. Alternatively, you can request a refill via your pharmacy or contact the office during business hours.
